BCG supports vehicles to transport medical staff against the Covid-19 pandemic in Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Tien Giang

(BCG) - On July 1st, in response to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s calling upon the people of Vietnam to unite and fight against the pandemic, Bamboo Capital Group and Deo Ca Group jointly arranged a group of vehicles to assist the medical staff in Ho Chi Minh city, Long An province, and Tien Giang province with performing rapid Covid-19 testing.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh city is reaching the peak of its campaign, which aims to trace Covid-19 cases in the community to locate and block the contagious areas. The city is also conducting the screening Covid-19 tests for 5 million habitants and workers in residential areas, industrial parks, manufacturing areas and high-tech zones.

Long An province and Tien Giang province are adjacent to Ho Chi Minh city. There are many industrial parks with high population density. There is a high demand for testing while local facilities do not have enough manpower and resources, which leads to an overload of people waiting to be tested.

Given the situation, Bamboo Capital Group and Deo Ca Group proposed to the People’s Committees of Ho Chi Minh city, Long An province, and Tien Giang province that the organizations could jointly provide a group of vehicles to support the medical staff in these areas with rapid and mobile Covid-19 testing. Specifically, the group includes 7 7-seater cars, 17 16-seater cars, and 2 29-seater cars. All of the costs including those for fuel, hired personnel, and logistics are sponsored by the two organizations.

The timely and feasible proposal of Bamboo Capital Group and Deo Ca Group was quickly approved by the local governments. During the first day of the campaign, 26 cars supporting the Covid-19 rapid testing teams of the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City spread throughout the city, helping the medical staff with taking samples for quick testing. In the coming days, the vehicles will cooperate with Long An province and Tien Giang province to continue taking samples at Covid-19 hotspots.
