05/16/2018

On June 7th, Mr. Pham Van Canh, Vice Chairman of Long An People’s Committee, has confirmed the charging scheme for Interstate 830 from Ben Luc District to Duc Hoa District. After the project was checked and taken over, the Provincial People’s Committee has officially allowed BCG – Bang Duong Consortium to finalize and start charging fees from June 2018.

Fees charged will range between 25,000 – 165,000 VND/car in accordance with different cars weight. Monthly pass will cost around 750,000 – 4,950,000 VND/car, and quarterly pass will cost 2,025,000 – 13,365,000 VND/car. 20% discount on monthly and quarterly passes shall be applied for those who reside within An Thanh, Luong Hoa, Luong Binh, Tan Hoa, and Huu Thanh Villages.

This charging scheme will continue for 19 years and will be adjusted every 6 months. Mr. Pham Van Cuong, Director of Bang Duong Construction Company, stated that the project has a total investment size of about 1,079 billion VND, in which 80% of the project cost was financed by local banks, and the current interest amount owed is 80 billion VND.

Mr. Cuong also said that when the financial model was made in 2015, the company has relied heavily on data provided by a local consulting firm which is around 4,500 – 4,700 cars count per day. “The financial model was drafted based on this data. However, there might be variations in reality and adjustments will need to be made every 6 months, as there are other route alternatives for people to choose”, said by Mr. Cuong.

In addition, Mr. Cuong has delayed the automatic toll collection system until late 2019, due to high operating costs. As previously published by Tuoi Tre Online, Interstate 830 was approved and broken ground by the end of 2016 with a total length of 24 km, road width of 15 m, and four lanes.
