Vinacafe Dalat Annual General Meeting: 2017 Projected Revenue of 567 Billion VND

04/19/2017

Vinacafe Dalat Annual General Meeting was held in the afternoon of April 17th, 2017, projecting 2017 revenue of 567 billion VND and exports volume of 12,000 tons.

Vinacafe Dalat is the sole subsidiary of Vinacafe (Vietnam) in Lam Dong Province – the highest province in Tay Nguyen area and being one of the key coffee regions of the country (next to Dak Lak Province) with exports output of more than 400,000 tons/year (of which more than 50,000 tons are Arabica coffee).

Since July 20th, 2016, Vinacafe Dalat has transformed itself from a State-owned Enterprise into a Joint Stock Company, in which Tracodi, a subsidiary of Bamboo Capital (BCG), accounts for 34.23% shares of Vinacafe Dalat.

Due to complex price fluctuations of coffee along with the negative impacts of climate change which in turn directly affect the efficiency of coffee production, Board of Directors have decided that the company will keep on promoting its corporate branding, optimizing and taking advantage of the available production capacity at Duc Trong processing plant, in order to increase the procuring, processing and exports outputs as follows:

 No.  Indicators  Unit  2017 Plan
 1  Production indicators
   Coffee beans  tons  12,000
   Exports  tons  12,000
 2  Financial indicators
   Total revenue  million VND  567,999
Profit after tax  million VND  6,147

The meeting has also passed Vinacafe’s plan of divesting up to 49% later this year and BCG has proposed to take over. BCG has invested in Vinacafe Dalat and provided financial support, generated exports and effectively restructured the company. Vinacafe Dalat currently owns a high-tech factory with over 7 million USD in value and over 5 hectares of land area in Duc Trong District, Lam Dong Province. The company’s world-famous coffee brand for exports should be a good foundation for BCG to participate in the process of ownership, restructuring and enhancing trade activities as well as to research on how to add values into the production chain.
